Posting from Karumbah Queensland. It is 28 degrees here and lovely and sunny. Thank you for your lovely letters posted recently on Miss Smyth ... page. I was delighted by your many responses and well wishes. I will try to answer some of the questions you asked as best as I can. Please remember our internet is limited up here and my phone hasn't had service for about a week.Here goes... we are all healthy my hair is fine we have not seen any crocs although they have seen us... yes I have been fishing and have caught some good fish. we both miss you and squirty is missing home as well. We are currently at Karumbah and have just visited Undarra Lava Tubes. We said goodbye to the Walkers about 4 days ago and James has some good stories to tell about our travels to the tip and back. We are heading towards Lawn hill NP over the next few days and for the coming two weeks will be travelling in very remote places. Mostly dirt roads and very few people. Some towns are so far from major towns they have to generate their own electricity using gas power stations. There are no major hospitals and if they have medical problems will need to call on the flying doctor for help. Mrs Fischer, Suirty and I went for a bushwalk on the edge of an extinct volcanoe near Undarra Lave tubes. On this walk I managed to step over a taipan snake who was warming himself on the basalt soil. Thankfully I was not bitten by this most agressive snake... I sensed God was looking after me. We have met a nice couple Matt and Narrelle and we might go fishing together for a day or so. Generally people are friendly up here but we have met the odd traveller who thinks they own the world and that we should go somewhere else... so then we move on and pray for them on the way. We are having a most restful time although I miss being in the classroomand seeing your friendly faces each day. I amlooking forward to term 4 and yes we will have a sleepover and yes Sqiurty is coming. So till the next time we chat have a great day and look after your wonderful teacher for me.
